FAQs
What services do you offer?
I am a clinical psychologist offering a specific type of therapy called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an umbrella term used to describe therapy that explores and changes how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are inter-related. The aim is to build insight into unhelpful patterns while building and practicing more useful patterns. Depending on what you are struggling with and what your goals are, we will refine the specific components of the CBT. For example, people with OCD very often benefit from a type of CBT called Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). People with insomnia often benefit from CBT for Insomnia. People with social anxiety often benefit from learning to identify and challenge predictions and patterns of thinking about social situations while approaching social situations they have been avoiding. In sum, there are many ways I adapt CBT to fit the needs and goals of the clients I work with. I base this on a scientific understanding of what seems to work well and we orient toward your own north star: “What needs to change to make YOUR life more meaningful and fullfilling?”
The first few sessions focus on getting to know you, clarifying your goals, and identifying any relevant diagnoses. When helpful, we’ll coordinate with other providers involved in your care.
I’ll offer frank feedback about what I think may help, while you decide when and how you want to engage in the work. Therapy may draw from CBT and ERP; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)- a form of CBT; interpersonal therapy; problem-solving; and exploring the barriers that may be keeping you from doing what you know you need to do to thrive.
How much does it cost?
60 minute intake session: $367
53 minute therapy session: $265
I do not work with insurance companies so my clients pay in full at the time of their sessions.
It is likely therapy will occur on weekly, and maybe biweekly basis.
This is an investment in yourself. Please consider affordability before you reach out.
I provide superbills to clients upon their request should they wish to seek reimbursement from their insurance companies on their own accord. The best way to research your benefits is to call the 800 number on the back of your insurance card and ask them about your “out of network” benefits for psychotherapy.
What makes you different?
As an experienced licensed clinical psychologist, I bring extensive doctoral-level training and years of clinical experience to understanding not just what you’re struggling with, but what may be driving it and what is most likely to help. My approach is direct, practical, and grounded in evidence-based psychology, with the goal of helping you build greater flexibility and a life that is bigger than anxiety.
I intentionally keep a low caseload so I can be more accessible and responsive than is often possible in larger, high-volume practices.
